El Faro Suites- Aguadilla, PR

El Faro Hotel
http://www.farohotels.net/

Grade: 4/5 stars

Food: Good, nicely presented. For the price you get a good amount of food and with good taste. It isn't amazing but it is good. I had a mixed buffet, meat, chicken, two types of rice & salads. It was all good except for the rice which was a bit burnt.

Service: Fast, efficient. They should work on their bartender, since they didn't really have a designated bar area except for a small cart in one corner.

Decor: The main room is right at the entrance, it is spacious but bland, you need a lot of decor to spice it up. But it does serve as a great canvas to make it into the room of your dreams. The other salon available is much nicer, built overlooking the ocean with glass windows all around.

Other:

+ Very accesible from the Aguadilla Airport, which is about 10 minutes away.
+ A lot of space for big weddings
+ Prices range from $20-35p.p
+ Big Parking space
+Two hotels on site: Faro Suites & the new Marriot(very nice!)
+Overlooks the ocean
+ They do need to clean it up a little on the outside, meaning cut the grass & groom it better.

For the price & the area you really have a nice place to have a small or big affair. It is a bit hard to find if you are not from the area but you can have a good enough idea with the directions they give you.

If you are traveling in to the airport the best airline is Jet Blue.

Venues in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico offers a great amount of venues to have the wedding of your dreams, of course this all depends on what you are looking for: beach, nature, urban, chic or black tie affair. As this blogs develops I will go posting reviews on the venues I work with. This week's edition:

Normandie Hotel
Old San Juan, PR
www.normandiepr.com

Rating: 5/5 stars

This hotel offers seven different rooms for functions. I've had the pleasure of working a wedding at the Gold Room, a space designed for an intimate but colorful wedding. My reviews by category:

Food: Top of the Line, dinner was a stuffed chicken breast with mashed potatoes with a vegetable salad. It was a delicious meal, served hot which can sometimes be a problem, the presentation was gorgeous and taste was amazing. You really get a five star meal here.

Staff: Everyone was very accomodating and on top of everything. There was someone there to fan the brides dress before going out to walk down the aisle and she was there to offer the couple food and drinks right after the ceremony, while we where getting ready to start our photo session.

Accomodations: Rooms are spacious, offering a nice and clean space, covered with whites and cremes. Every room has a nice flow of natural light coming in through the windows offering a gorgeous setting for getting ready photos.

All in All, the Normandie Hotel offers a very nice space to have your wedding and many options as where in the Hotel to have them. From a small lounge area with a huge balcony to quient rooms.

Welcome!

Being that am planning my own Destination Wedding in Puerto Rico, I have decided to create this blog with the hope that I can help other brides plan their own DW in PR.

Pro's:

1. No Passports Needed to Travel Here
2. Beautiful Beaches to fulfill every need
3. Wonderful People always willing to help
4. A little grain of sand to make everything better

I'll be creating a great informational Blog for everyone to get some help.
